I found this awesome glyph for transcend, plus a glyph font, Quarz 974 to use today!
I think it's important to let go and trust the journey life gives you. Travel fearlessly into the unknown! A day late because I was spending the weekend at the Missouri Art Education conference. I believe "impact" is a word that describes all teachers. Impossible. Just a little quote from my friend Walt. As an art teacher, I find this to be true often! 😊 Enchantment: I was inspired by the lantern scene from Tangled; one of the most beautiful, and one of my favorite movie scenes. Love, love this part! Day 6: Whisper. I was trying to create something with a bit of mystery, a bit of an airy feel. This awesome typeface is call Port. Day 5: Adventure! There were so many things I could've done with this word. Our UP-themed wedding definitely came to mind, but the I found this quote from Peter Pan and this amazing tattoo design. Day 4: possibilities. I was inspired by Cinderella I saw tonight and the 1997 tv version with Brandy and Whitney Houston 😍 it's late so not my best work, but I had to get something on paper. I forgot to post yesterday, whoops, but the word was Machine. I used a font called Bad Robot from dafont.com to mimic from. If you feel like your in a creative funk with your fonts, I suggest looking for inspiration there. Let the challenge begin! Our first word is FOCUS. Be sure to share your fonts using #justmytype and join our Facebook group Just My Type. Happy creating!
I just finished participating in the 30 Days of Lists Challenge for March. It was my first creative challenge, and boy was it a challenge. As an art teacher I am surrounded by creativity and artmaking every day, but rarely do I encourage myself to be the artist. The 30 Lists challeng allowed me to do this. I was able to put my own words and crafty visuals down on paper every day. At times it was difficult to fulfill the challenge, as we all have busy lives and busier days, but I was proud of myself that I didn't skip one day. I made it a priority for myself to list. It was fulfilling, so much so that my colleague and I developed our own challenge for the month of April: the Just My Type challenge focusing on hand-drawn typography. I'm looking forward to the continual personal challenge of growing as an artist!
